GLOBALG.A.P. was established back in 1997 as a European initiative due to the growing concern among consumers about product safety, environmental impact and the health, safety and welfare of workers and animals. To address this, they chose to harmonize standards and procedures and develop an independent certification system for good agricultural practice (GAP).
The standards helped producers meet EU-accepted criteria for food safety, sustainable production methods, worker and animal welfare, responsible use of water, compound feed and plant reproductive materials. The harmonized certifications also meant savings for manufacturers, as they no longer had to undergo several revisions of different criteria each year.
Today, GLOBALG.A.P. spread across the continent.
GLOBALG.A.P. is today the world’s leading agricultural insurance program, translating consumers’ demands for good farming practice into a rapidly growing list of countries – currently more than 120.
GLOBALG.A.P. is today a quality concept developed to ensure traceability, food safety, working environment and quality within the fruit and vegetable area.
We have chosen to certify our production according to the values of GLOBALG.A.P. As a customer, this ensures you that our entire production takes place according to high safety requirements – and with a strong focus on sustainability.
The GLOBALG.A.P. standard on fruit and vegetables consists of the following:
– Documentation and self-inspection.
