About Nature Impact<\/h2>\n
Nature Impact is a Danish family business established in Fyn in 2013. Our aim is to supply future-proof system solutions for green roofs and plant walls to the Danish building industry.
\nThe Larsen family, who are behind Nature Impact, have been horticulturalists for five generations, so there is a lot of know-how to draw from in the company. Since 2013 the company has developed rapidly, and it is currently the market leader in sedum roofs in Denmark. We also export to Scandinavia and Continental Europe.\n<\/div>\n

The revolutionary tray system

Nature Impact were the first to present the tray system for sedum roofs in Denmark. This introduction made it significantly easier, quicker and more economical to install sedum roofs, compared with the traditional matting solution.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the innovative tray system brought about a change in terms of who installs the green roof solutions. Whereas it was traditionally the task of a landscape gardener, the mounting of green roofs was now possible for all roofers. With Nature Impact’s solution, professional roofers can do the work on the roof through to completion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sustainability<\/h2>\n

At Nature Impact we are always aware of our responsibilities. This should also be seen in our products. On our horticultural farm we weed by hand, as we have opted not to use any herbicide. We believe that if a green product has to meet the demands of green ideologies, then production should too.<\/p>\n

Products from Nature Impact are approved for construction of Nordic Swan Ecolabel certified buildings, and our products also give points to the DGNB, amongst others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In our work to become more environmentally conscious, we have chosen to draw up an EPD: Environmental Product Declaration. This is voluntary documentation of our sedum roofs and the environmental properties of the products. The EPD also gives points for sustainability certifications throughout Europe.<\/p>\n

Our responsibility is also reflected in the performance of our products. In collaboration with DHI, we have full-scale live testing of water retention. This allows us to measure the impact of green roofs after each rain event.<\/p>\n

The impact on biodiversity and insects is also monitored. We are working with a group from Aarhus University to count up the number of insects in urban as well as rural settings. The results of this will give us an indication of what insects we can expect to be present in different environments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Global GAP<\/h3>\n
    \n

    GLOBAL G.A.P. was established in 1997 as a European initiative in response to the growing concern amongst consumers as regards product safety, the environmental impact, and the health, safety and welfare of employees and animals. In order to address this, it was decided to harmonise standards and procedures, and develop an independent certification system for good agricultural practice (GAP).<\/p>\n

    The standards helped producers to fulfil EU-approved criteria for food safety, sustainable production methods, employee and animal welfare, and the responsible use of water, feed mixes and plant formation materials. The harmonised certifications also resulted in savings for producers as they no longer had to undergo multiple revisions of different criteria every year.<\/p>\n

    Today GLOBAL G.A.P. is the world’s leading agricultural programme, which converts consumer requirements into good agricultural practice in a rapidly growing list countries – currently more than 130.<\/p>\n

    GLOBAL G.A.P. is currently a quality concept that has been devised to ensure traceability, food safety, working environment and quality within the field of fruit and vegetables.<\/p>\n

    We have opted to certify our products in accordance with the GLOBAL G.A.P. values. It assures you as a customer that all of our production complies with strict safety requirements, and it has a major focus on the environmental impact.<\/p>\n

    The GLOBALG.A.P. standard for fruit and vegetables consists of the following:<\/p>\n

      FLL<\/h3>\n
      \n

      For 25 years, FLL (Forschungsgesellschaft Landschaftsentwicklung Landschaftsbau), a non-profit organisation, has been working on standards for green roof technology. Their guidelines for planning, implementation and maintenance reflect the latest developments in recognised German state-of-the-art technology. The eight professional organisations behind them work to \u201cimprove environmental conditions by promoting and communicating plant research and its planned applications”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

      The guidelines do not provide a conclusive solution to all roof problems, however, but they are a basic tool for the reliable construction of high-quality green roofs worldwide – not just in Germany.<\/p>\n

      The advantage of following FLL\u2019s guidelines is the combination of attitudes to totally clear reference values and well-defined test methods, as well as procedures, which makes it possible to compare the results.\u00a0<\/p>\n

      Any medium that meets the requirements of FLL\u2019s guidelines functions as a component of a similar green roof system – wherever it is positioned. It is important, however, that the selection of plants is adjusted to local conditions.<\/p>\n
