Treatment Plant of the Future
In 2018, Nature Impact supplied a green roof for the Solrødgård Treatment Plant. Henning Larsen Architects designed the treatment plant. It has been quite aptly called ‘the treatment plant of the future’, as new technology and innovative and sustainable construction solutions have already been thought about at the drawing board stage –benefiting both people and the environment.
Phønix Tag Storentreprise carried out the roofing and the large green roof installation on the treatment plant. Preben Vestergaard, Managing Director of Phønix Tag Storentreprise, is well versed in green roof solutions.

At Solrødgård Treatment Plant, where easily accessible path layouts wind around the building’s green roofs, invite you to go for a walk. It is even possible to cross over both roofs by the walkway.
The facility is built directly into the landscape. As a visitor, you might get the feeling that the building is part of the surrounding nature. The area’s wildlife has also approvd the facility. There are clear traces of deer that have crossed the green roof.
